From the New York Daily News
For no specific reason, here’s a reminder of the order of succession if President Trump — and any of his immediate successors — were to somehow leave office very soon.
1. Vice President Mike Pence
2. House Speaker Paul Ryan
3. President pro tempore of the Senate Orrin Hatch (pictured)
4. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson
5. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin
6. Defense Secretary James Mattis...

Lefty Presidents Are Better For Markets
Don’t you hate how right-handed Donald Trump is? Can’t we get an all-lefty general election again, like when lefties Barack Obama and John McCain squared off?
As we go full-throttle into the election year, people will have endless debates about how policies affect the economy. As a left-handed investor, I ask the question that really matters … are there any lefties running for president?
As you may be aware, we’ve had a left-handed president for 40 of the last 92 years, including four of the last five presidents. It’s hardly a coincidence — lefties are natural born leaders, charismatic, wise...

Which President Was Driven to Congress in Al Capone’s Armored Limousine?
Answer: Franklin Roosevelt! The Secret Service needed a car to drive President Roosevelt to Congress to make his speech on Pearl Harbor the day after the attack. The Treasury Department had impounded Al Capone's armored car years earlier, so they decided that was the safest transportation.
To celebrate President’s Day (February 16) and George Washington’s birthday (February 22), USA.gov put together a list of resources, activities, and lesson plans.

'SwitchGrass' is the Word
You'll recall a recent State of the Union address discussing SwitchGrass as a fuel supplement in order to make the United States less energy dependent on foreign oil. I was reminded of this by an e-mail from the Business Librarians' listserv, with these links:
Switchgrass ethanol: better than corn?
Switchgrass-to-ethanol comes out clean in study
A study published last week by the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) found that switchgrass contains five times more energy than it takes to grow it, which makes it significantly more cost-effective than corn. Switchgrass Yields Five Times More Energy Than is Used to Grow It.

Less Than 500 Days Left Before Election Day 2008
